We also offer a range of optional extras at an additional premium. These include:

Loss of rent

Covers loss of rental income following damage to the buildings or contents by any cause covered by the Property damage section.
Option of 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60 months indemnity period.

Employer's liability

Provides cover of £10m for sums you become legally liable to pay as damages together with your legal costs and expenses relating to an injury to an employee for which you are found negligent.

Subsidence

Cover against damage to your premises due to subsidence, ground heave or landslip.

Terrorism

Additional protection against damage to your premises from acts of terrorism (subject to acceptance).

Personal accident

Cover for principals, directors and partners aged no more than 65 years old that provides compensation arising from any accident at any time. Death or permanent total disablement - £20,000 capital sum.

Legal expenses

Cover can also be extended to include the following:

  • Data protection - cover up to £100,000 for any one claim in respect of your legal costs to:
    • Defend you in a dispute relating to the Data Protection Act 1998
    • Appeal against a refusal of an application for registration or alteration of your registered particulars
    • Appeal against an Enforecement, De-registration or Transfer Prohibition Notice
    • Pay compensation awards against you relating to the holding, loss or unauthorised disclosure of data under the Data Protection legislation. 
  • Commercial tenancy disputes - costs up to £100,000 in taking legal action over the agreement under which you let property to the tenant of non residential property.
  • Licence protection - costs up to £100,000 of defending the withdrawal, restriction or suspension of your business licence..
  • Personal injury - covers costs up to £100,000 of taking legal action against another person who causes death or bodily injury to you.
  • Witness attendance allowance - cover up to £5,000 for any on event in respect of the salary or wages of an employee that you cannot get back from the court, tribunal or arbitration.
